Microscopes I Have Used
(All links below are amazon affiliate links. When you purchase an item through this link, it helps me out as a creator!)

Model B490B - Halogen
I used this one for a lot of my videos by using a phone attachment on the eyepiece. It has an abbe condenser with a filter holder for different lighting techniques like Darkfield, Oblique, Rheinberg Filters, etc...

Model B120C - LED
This was one of the first microscopes I ever used and it is great to start out with! It has an LED light as well, so there is a lot less eye strain when looking through the eyepieces, and no heat involved.

Would not recommend getting the cameras that come with the microscope itself if you plan on taking videos. They have low megapixels  and are mostly for images. I use a phone mount that I got off of amazon for around $20 bucks that I will link below this.

You can also find these microscopes on their website, but amazon tends to be more lenient when it comes to returns.

Useful Products For Microscopy

Nitrile Gloves
Gloves are always nice for keeping yourself and your microscope clean!

Pipettes
Something that is a must have for microscopy is pipettes! It allows you to get small samples of water and dispense them on your slide or into a jar without making a mess! There are many different sizes and lengths, so make sure you're getting the right ones!

Glass Vials
Glass Vials 2
Glass Vials are great for on the go water sampling!

Kimwipes Set
Kimwipes
Kimwipes are great for keeping objectives clean, especially when using an oil objective. I use these to get oil off of my 100x objective and they work great without leaving any scratches on the lense!

 Useful Upgrades For 160mm Microscope

These are upgrades for the microscopes above you can get along the way. There are also options available on Ebay or you can buy these directly through the manufacturer!
4x PLAN Objective 160mm
10x PLAN  Objective 160mm
20x PLAN  Objective 160mm
40x PLAN  Objective 160mm
60x PLAN  Objective 160mm

These are Plan objectives and what they do is give you a sharper and clearer image to the edges of the field of view instead of just the center.

These are not necessary, especially if you are just starting out. You can always upgrade along the way :)

100x PLAN OIL  Objective 160mm
This is an OIL objective meaning it requires a special oil so that you are able to get a clear image. The kimwipes are necessary for this objective.

What do you mean by 160mm?
The number refers to the tube length of the microscope and means the distance between the eyepiece and the objectives need to be in a fixed position of 160mm apart to get a clear image.

It is the most common microscope tube length, and the objective will display the number "160" indicating that it is for a microscope with the 160mm tube length.

Most 160mm are interchangeable and can be used no matter what brand you are using. This cannot be said for infinity objectives, which are a more updated version of their finite counterparts. However that does not mean one is better than the other!
